It’s fair to say 2016 has been a real rollercoaster, with many ups and downs for a lot of people, including me. There have been so many media reports about 2016 being a rubbish year, with intense political upheaval and the deaths of many iconic people.
Thing is I’m not one for focusing on the negatives – despite my own personal challenges, 2016 has been a year of intense growth for me and I reach the end of the year feeling proud that I have still achieved my goals despite the many obstacles I have faced. Maybe you feel this too, that despite the upheaval it’s been a great year for you, maybe it’s the year you got engaged and as such it will always have a special place in your heart.
But there’s no denying 2016 has had it’s share of extreme ups and downs the world over. If you believe in numerology – something I am fascinated by – then it’s been interesting to read why numerologists believe 2016 has been so hard. They calculate what is called a Universal Year – which is basically the landscape we are all encountering, the world over, at the same time. It’s a flow of energy we collectively experience and 2016 was a #9 year and the end of a 9-year cycle, so it’s been about endings, completion, letting go, surrender and loss. These challenges force transformation and this is something we’re all witnessing now as we come to the end of 2016 and move into 2017.
2017 is a #1 year, it’s a new chapter and will set the tone and flow of energy for the next 9-years of your life. As a #1 year it’s all about initiation, achievement, independence, individuality and creative expression.
It’s about planting the seeds for the next 9 years of your life, defining your own path and making things happen. So as you embark upon this new phase of life, of entering into marriage and a lifelong commitment with your partner, then there is no better time to be setting the tone of that life together.
So be curious, seek out new solutions and uncover the optimal path to reach your life goals. If you’re planning your wedding in 2017 then there is no better time to do so. You have the collective energy of the #1 year momentum behind you filled with possibilities, new ideas and infinite choices.
It’s also the year we launch Wedplanology, our new 8-week online course to support creative brides-to-be, just like you, to turbo-charge their wedding plans and take considered action. The course is open for enrollments in January so make sure you’re on the list to hear when we open and take advantage of our early bird rate.
It’s going to be an exciting year and I hope you’ll be along for the ride with us.
